Bahamas Shipyard Vice President, Dan Romence was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dan developed an interest in boats and being out on the water at a young age while spending time on the lakes and rivers of his native state. Soon after receiving his BA from Hillsdale College, he began his career in Yachting as a crew member on board the M/Y Enterprise IV. As First Officer on M/Y Enterprise IV, he completed several cruising seasons in the Caribbean, Mediterranean and US East Coast. These cruising seasons resulted in Dan receiving his 100 ton US Coast Guard Captain’s License in 1995.
In 1998, Dan joined Bradford Marine as Business Development Manager at its Fort Lauderdale location. Then in 1999, he moved to Freeport Grand Bahamas to begin his role as General Manager of the 47 acre facility at this location. He has recently been promoted to Vice President. Dan can regularly be found boating and fishing in the waterways of Bahamas, though he also enjoys hunting, cooking, rugby and traveling.
