Fleet Coordinator – Fort Lauderdale


The Fleet Coordinator primarily focuses on coordinating fleet maintenance and repairs of all the company’s trucks, vans and golf carts. In this role, you set a preventative maintenance schedule and track the completion of these maintenance tasks by external vendors, such as mechanics. You also maintain our inventory of spare parts and tires in case of emergency repairs and assist with the purchase or lease of replacement vehicles.

  • Schedule fleet maintenance and repairs
  • Work with external vendors, including mechanics
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and tires
  • Monitor fuel levels
  • Maintain a database of truck/van/golf cart and driver information
  • Assist with vehicle purchases and replacements
  • Assist with process improvement
  • Determine the most efficient route to destinations to ensure timely delivery.
  • Inspect and maintain the fleet of vehicles and all related equipment, putting in repair requests as necessary to maintain safe operation.
  • Ensure the fleet is kept clean at all times
  • Ensuring travel logs are being recorded with areas traveled to, travel time, and work hours
  • Perform some other undertakings like stocking warehouse inventory, deliveries to and from each office and/or vendors, receiving of shipments, answering calls

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Lift up to 40 pounds or odd-shaped boxes and equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or a related field preferred
  • 2 years of experience in a fleet management role
  • Knowledge of the rules of the road.
  • Knowledge of the procedures for operating a variety of motor vehicles.
  • Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Ensure accurate merchandise is being delivered or picked up
  • Identifying common problems and escalating them to management, along with possible suggestions for improvement, wherever possible.
  • Ability to adapt to change in accordance with the business needs of the company
  • Operate with ownership, be a self-starter, and have a strong attention to detail
  • A minimum of one year of delivery experience including but not limited to the movement of furniture and equipment, boxes and logistical assignment.
  • A minimum of six (6) months of forklift or box truck operations experience with loading and off- loading of delivery trucks.
  • The ability to respond appropriately under pressure.
  • Sound judgment and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to shift schedule and work overtime as needed by the business unit
  • Willingness to learn new skills and ability to adjust to changes quickly
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening)
