Security officers are responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of a company’s employees, visitors, and associated property. Required to patrolling, responding to safety and security threats, and establishing a security presence.

Essential Functions

  • Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
  • Patrol randomly or regularly building and perimeter.
  • Monitoring alarms and surveillance systems.
  • Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
  • Investigates and writes reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards and other security related situations.
  • Provides any needed assistance to customers, employees and visitors following the department’s procedures.
  • Greeting visitors, checking them in and directing them to the appropriate department.
  • May perform duties during required coverage as assigned.
  • performs other related duties as assigned, by security department manager.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work pending on shift hired for.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment and enforcement procedures.
  • Security License, preferred
