Summary/Objective

Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for tracking inventory levels, handling all aspects of shipping and receiving, and keeping accurate records. Performing Company-to-Company transfers, applying freight costs to customer invoices, handling RMAs.

Essential Functions

  • Professionally and safely pick, pack, and coordinate out/inbound shipments, including special deliveries or pickups required by the customer or manager.
  • Ensures 100% on-time deliveries – does not leave until the carrier collects all outgoing shipments.
  • Audit outgoing shipments and materials delivered daily updates internal logs, and files any paperwork.
  • Ensures accuracy of orders received; validates quantity; verifies part numbers and serial numbers against shipping documents and company purchase order.
  • Label and maintain inventory following established procedures.
  • Keep accurate control of materials used, track freight cost, and documents it on customer invoices.
  • Daily control of ‘Kits’ checked out to and back in from MSE’s (Maintenance Support Equipment). Record parts used from service kits, restock parts returned, and maintain inventory levels according to department policy.
  • Request RMAs from vendors for returns, warranty claims, and/or exchange parts.
  • Assist with cycle counts and annual physical inventory.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and assist with depot facility maintenance.
  • Responsible for the packaging within the shipping system, daily component packaging, and customer customization order filing within the delivery and packing system.
  • Schedules orders and ensures accuracy of packaging products; double boxing and palletizing.
  • Completes daily inbound receiving of products and packages and notifies recipients accordingly.
  • Coordinate early drop-off times and late pickup times with carriers to fully optimize production time.
  • Maintain communication with customers regarding order status.
  • Maintain ongoing and proactive communication with supervisor concerning merchandise levels.
  • Verify shipments by checking shipping documents following standard operating procedures or detailed instructions.
  • Exemplify the second-to-none customer service to all customers with internal or external
  • Coordinates and supports employees and/or other departments to resolve shipping and packaging issues and matters.
  • Follows up, monitors, and ensures CTO files (Customization to Order project files) and SOP (Standard Operation Procedures) are followed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Lift up to 40 pounds or odd-shaped boxes and equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education level as a minimum requirement.
  • 3+ years of shipping and receiving experience
  • One-year parts/warehouse related experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to cope with varying levels of workload and multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of proper packaging methods and ability to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements.
  • Able to stand on feet for 8 to 10-hour shift
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Willingness to be a team player and promote a positive team environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Flexible and proactive to meet company needs
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Must have good organizational skills
